Barbara Field Glaser graduated from a Moore College of Art in 1969. After graduation she taught art in the Abington school district in Pennsylvania. For many years she took a hiatus from painting and became involved in architectural design. In 1997 she enthusiastically returned to the field of painting while enrolled at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts in Philadelphia, where she studied with Jill Rupinsky, Al Gury, and Margaretta Gilboy. After brief periods of realistic portraiture and still life painting, Barbara returned to her unique style and maintains studios in South Florida and Southern New Jersey.

To interpret the image I use verticle line and color. To enhance the linear quality, I use various sized wooden sticks to apply the paint. My use of color is not representational, but rather expresses my interest in color combining. There is a weaving of color and texture that emerges as the painting becomes more dense in its layering.
